Back by popular demand for one more performance, Beach=Culture presents Holly Rothschild’s This is Not Here, the culminating project of her 10-week Artist Residency at the Beach House. From February through May, 2010, Rothschild worked with seven dancers throughout the site, drawing on history and architecture as well as the echoes of people present and past to create an original dance performance. Using dance, gesture, and narrative, Rothschild presents the Beach House in a new light!

Choreographer, Costume Design: Holly Rothschild, Sound Design: Luke Rothschild, Pre-show sound by Polmo Polpo. Dancers: Kathleen Davidson, Sarah Elgart, Sevenju Pepper, Melissa Sandvig, Chris Stanley, Jones Welsh, and Alesia Young.

Please wear comfortable shoes and layers - the beach can change from warm to cool very quickly. The dance will be ~60 minutes, accompanied by a Q&A session with Holly Rothschild. Although this event is at capacity, the audience follows the action outdoors, so there may be walkup availability.

Stop by early for Beach House tours by docents from the Santa Monica Conservancy before every evening event, first come, first served. 

Tickets are free but seating is limited and reservations are required. If you would like to attend, please reserve online. Please plan to arrive by 6:15pm to retain your reservation. Directions: The Beach House is located at 415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica, CA 90402 on the west side of Pacific Coast Highway, a half mile north of the California Incline and a half mile south of Chautauqua Blvd. Plenty of public parking is available - enter off PCH at the Beach House Way traffic light. Parking: $8 for a day pass ($10/day on weekends). The facility is also easily accessible by foot or bike from the beach bike path, although the beach closes at sunset. There is ample bike parking at racks throughout the site - remember to bring your own lock.
